We live in a changing world. The events of 9-11 marked the creation of a national security network. The attack on the World Trade Center has shown there is a growing need to recruit professionally trained individuals in the area of homeland security. There are now schools and courses that will give training in this area and fill this need to secure the homeland. This means there are jobs available in this area and many will require security occupations that will require a certificate, associate's degree, or bachelor's degree.

In fact, I once new a guy who worked as a police officer who started working for the Homeland Security Department. He investigated the processes of companies such as Pepsi to make sure they had their processes secure so their products could not be infiltrated!
The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), suggests that homeland security will see a rapid increase in the growth of job openings through the end of the decade.
